The only available router with DECT base station at Unitymedia is the Fritz!BOX 6490 Cable. But you get it exclusively with the telephone comfort option for € 4.99 a month plus a one-time activation fee of € 29.99 and shipping costs of € 9.99.
But you can also change your tariff and you can buy or rent a free Fritz!BOX Cable 6430/6490/6590 (www.routermiete.de) and can activate directly with the tariff change.
Hmm, I really don't like the FritzBox user interface and it looks like the 6490 is just as ugly as our 6320 cable router. What is the normal process to get a newer cable model because ours is over 5 years old now? The Connect Box seems to have a nicer UI but has no DECT, so maybe we should consider dropping DECT. Does UnityMedia charge a fee when an existing, loyal customer wants to change plans
Which tariff do you currently use? If it is not up to date, it is probably too expensive or has too little power for the money. Then you can upgrade to a current tariff and get the ConnectBox automatically, but then you have to send the Fritz!BOX 6320 back.
Thanks, I just upgraded from my old 2play PREMIUM 150 to 2play FLY 400 for 1 euro extra per month with a free Connect Box to replace the old 6320.
